The search for a gunman got underway in Nashville overnight after a man was injured in a drive-by shooting.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said a 27-year-old male checked himself into an area hospital early Monday morning after suffering a single gunshot wound to his lower leg.
He told officers he was shot while walking near 23rd Avenue North and Osage Street in north Nashville. He said someone fired a single shot from the vehicle as the car slowly cruised past him.
The victim hit the ground and the car drove away.
The motive for the shooting was unknown at this time. No suspect description was available.
