The search for a gunman got underway overnight after a man was shot north of Nashville.
The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday on Hampton Street.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said the victim was shot in the hip but expected to recover.
Investigators were out on the scene for most of the night trying to track down any witnesses.
Police said a third party, someone other than an emergency medical technician, drove him to the hospital. They said the victim is not cooperating at this time.
His identity was not known.
