A homeowner was injured in a violent home invasion after shooting at the suspects.
Officials in Springfield said the incident happened around 2 a.m. Saturday at a home in the 800 block of King Drive.
Three suspects who were armed with guns and wearing bandanas went into the home and demanded money.
According to reports, one of the homeowners pulled out a 9mm semi-automatic handgun and fired one round at the suspects.
They fled from the home but fired one shot back, hitting the homeowner in the hand.
The victim was taken to Northcrest Medical Center with minor injuries.
Authorities said they’re searching for the three suspects who were described as being around 18 to 20 years old. One of them stood around 6’ to 6’2’’ tall with a thin build. The other two were described as being shorter but heavier.
