Image Of Gold Car Released In Fatal Shooting

Posted

Police have released an image of a suspect's car that was involved in a fatal shooting.

Authorities said they need the public's help identifying the person in the gold car seen in the photo. They believed the vehicle was possibly a 2002-2005 Hyundai Sonata.

The suspect in the vehicle was involved in the December 2 fatal shooting of 19-year-old Moniteon Smith outside Swett's Restaurant in the 2700 block of Clifton Avenue.

Reports stated Smith had driven there in a black Nissan Altima. He had waited in the parking lot for around ten minutes before the gold car parked next to him around 5:30 p.m. on December 2.

That's when Smith got into the passenger side of the gold car, and an apparent struggle took place.

The passenger door then opened, and Smith fell to the ground.

The suspect's car allegedly had a temporary tag. It fled on Clifton Avenue.

Anyone with information on this murder or the identity of the suspect in the gold car has been urged to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
