A crash involving injuries closed a portion of Interstate 40 West for more than an hour in Dickson County.
The incident was reported before noon Friday at Exit 172 for State Route 46, Centerville, and Dickson.

Authorities said a box truck driver thought he was traveling east on the interstate when he realized traffic was headed west. He then attempted to go through the median to the other side of the interstate when he was rear-ended by a semi headed west.
The driver of the box truck was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Authorities confirmed the semi driver refused treatment.
The roadway was closed to westbound drivers with traffic being diverted to alternate routes for more than an hour. Around 1 p.m. the roadway was reopened with only the inside shoulder blocked to drivers. Those traveling in that area reported traffic was moving at full speed.
Eastbound traffic was not affected. Crews said the area was completely cleared around 2 p.m.
Drugs and alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
