The Montgomery County court center was briefly evacuated after an inmate left his holding cell.
The evacuation was prompted Tuesday morning when the inmate walked out of his cell. According to investigators, he never actually stepped outside of the courthouse.
As a precaution, officials with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office evacuated the building and brought in a K9 unit.
The inmate was found inside the courthouse and placed back into custody.
His name was not known.
Authorities said the situation lasted less than 30 minutes.
No one was hurt.
It’s unclear at this time how the inmate was able to leave his cell.
