Police have been searching for a suspect who slipped inside a home and started shooting.
The incident happened just before 10:30 p.m. Saturday on Greenwood Avenue in East Nashville.
Investigators said a man was sleeping when he woke up to a loud noise.
The armed man shot the homeowner once and then fled.
The victim was rushed to the hospital with injuries.
