People attended the Jazz on the Cumberland Concert series for a chance to listen to music and also donate canned food items for a good cause.
Concert series organizers co-sponsored Sunday night's event with Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.
"This is one of the food bank's biggest food drives of the year," producer Victor Chatman said.
One in seven Middle Tennesseans including one in five children have struggled with hunger every day.
Attendees tried to help lower those numbers.
"People have really benefited from the donations. Again, people that have been displaced, people that are just falling on hard times, most people think that people only need help during the holidays, but it's really a year-round situation. People really need help," Chatman said.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee distributed more than 30 million pounds of food during the 2015-2016 fiscal year.
