A Knoxville woman has been charged with driving under the influence after rear-ending a police cruiser stopped at a red light in North Knoxville.
Sgt. Samuel B. Henard tells media outlets that the crash occurred Thursday evening when officer Kenno Carlos, who was on patrol in a marked Knoxville PD cruiser, stopped for a red light. A Honda Accord driven by 49-year-old Robin Warwick then struck the rear of the cruiser, pushing it through the intersection.
Warwick was arrested, while a passenger in her car was taken to the hospital. The passenger was treated and released from Physicians Regional Medical Center.
Officer Carlos was treated and released from the University of Tennessee Medical Center.
It's unclear if Warwick has an attorney.
