School officials confirmed all students and staff were safe following the discovery of a loaded gun at a Cheatham County school.
The incident happened Wednesday at Sycamore Middle School. Authorities said the loaded weapon was found on the school’s campus.
The weapon was secured, and those with the Cheatham County School District wanted the public to know they take these situations very seriously.
They added the safety of the students and staff has always been the district’s top priority.
District representatives said authorities with the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office were handling the investigation.
