A man has been arrested for allegedly stealing country singer Kacey Musgraves’ boots in Nashville.
According to an affidavit, the alleged theft happened Monday night on 3rd Avenue South and Lindsley Avenue.
Darnell Cunningham has been charged with theft in the incident.
Musgraves had apparently parked her car there and returned to find her passenger window down.
Upon taking a closer look, she realized two pairs of boots – valued at $900 – had been stolen, along with the receipts.
The alleged thief was able to pry down the window which caused $500 in damage.
Police said Cunningham later tried to return the items to Lucchese Boots on 12th Avenue South. He was reportedly seen on the store’s surveillance video.
The manager recognized the boots and saw Musgraves’ name on the receipt. When he was questioned, police said Cunningham grabbed the boots and ran from the store.
Bond for the 30-year-old was set at $25,000.
