A man has been arrested after admitting to the murder of a Lawrence County man.

Officials with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene Tuesday on Mockerson Road.

Authorities said they found 30-year-old Yancey Williams in that area and added he admitted to shooting Curtis Sirmones, Jr. during an argument.

Sirmones was found dead near a porch. Officials said he had suffered a fatal gunshot wound.

Those with the sheriff’s office along with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Loretto Police Department processed the scene.

Williams was charged with second degree murder. He was being held at the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office on a $400,000 secure bond.
