A man has been charged after alleged firing a rifle and causing a police standoff at a La Vergne home.
Officials with La Vergne Police said they received a call from a resident on Hidden Forest Lane saying her roommate was intoxicated and had fired at least three rounds inside the home.
When officers arrived, the woman ran out and was taken to a safe place.
Police set up a perimeter and identified the suspect as Robert Binkley.
Investigators said they tried to make contact with him several times but he did not answer.
A robot was later sent upstairs and found Binkley passed out. He was not armed.
He was taken to the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office and charged with felony reckless endangerment.
