Man Arrested After Clarksville Barricade Situation

A man was taken into custody after a barricade situation at an apartment in Clarksville.

Officials were called to the scene around 4:33 a.m. Saturday in the 2600 block of Union Hall Road.

Authorities said the call was domestic-related. The female involved had already safely gotten out of the apartment.

The man, who was still inside the apartment, was identified as 27-year-old Hasaan Slaughter who reportedly had two active warrants on file for domestic assault and petition to revoke.

Reports stated a friend of Slaughter was outside the apartment around 5 a.m. with authorities attempting to convince Slaughter to come out.

Officials then tried to enter the apartment, which was when a shot was fired from inside by Slaughter.

According to reports, authorities then backed out and safely evacuated nearby residents. They then called for crisis negotiators and a tactical team.

Authorities said negotiators were successful in contacting Slaughter on the phone around 5:30 a.m. They were able to talk him into coming out around 7:30 a.m.

He was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault, petition to revoke, two counts of aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Reports stated a 9mm handgun was found and recovered from inside the apartment.

No injuries were reported from this incident.

Slaughter was being held on a $252,500 bond.
