An investigation got underway overnight after a man was carjacked at gunpoint in east Nashville.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said the incident happened early Friday morning as the victim was heading home from work.
He was approached by two or three suspects near the Shelby Golf Course when they pulled up behind him in a black SUV.
At least one of them was armed with a gun and demanded that he give them his car, a black Honda Accord.
The suspects were able to get away and fled in an unknown direction. The victim was not hurt.
The suspect with the gun was described as a black male with an afro. He was standing around 5'9'' tall and wearing a white shirt and black pants.
