Posted

Investigators have asked for the public’s help with identifying a man who was caught on camera setting a gas station on fire.

The incident happened around 7 p.m. October 19 at the Kwik Sak in the 4100 block of Clarksville Pike.

Arson investigators with the Nashville Fire Department said the man was soliciting money from customers inside, so store management asked him to leave.

After leaving the store, the man allegedly stole a gas container from a nearby vehicle and used it to douse the back of the building with gasoline before setting it on fire.

Authorities said he also attempted to set gas pumps on fire before he fled the scene.

Officials said the fire only caused minimal damage.

Anyone who may recognize the man in the video or photo has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME (615-742-7463) or the Arson Hotline at 615-862-5640.
