A man claiming to be a Federal Aviation Administration employee was arrested after police say he threatened an employee at Nashville International Airport.
According to an affidavit from Metro Nashville Police, 39-year-old Matthew Jenkins was taken into custody Wednesday night after trying to board his Southwest flight while intoxicated.
He was not allowed on the plane because he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and allegedly threatened an employee.
When officers arrived on scene, police said Jenkins became loud and began to curse in front of customers and children.
He was reportedly unsteady while walking, and complained about not getting veteran preference.
During the altercation, Jenkins repeatedly stated that he worked for the FAA, and was upset he was not getting veteran treatment.
Jenkins denied several requests to leave the airport and take a cab.
He now faces a charge of public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
