Officials said the victim of a shooting on South 6th Street has died from his injuries.
The incident happened around 1:15 p.m. Saturday in the 500 block of South 6th Street at the CWA public housing development.
The victim was identified as 22-year-old Georgio Gray. Officials confirmed he was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was listed in extremely critical condition Saturday. On Sunday, authorities confirmed he had died from his injuries.
According to reports, at least two gunmen approached Gray outside his apartment where gunfire was exchanged.
Police said there was also a second gunshot victim, 25-year-old Michael Carver Wilson, who was treated and released from Vanderbilt.
Detectives said they’ve been working to determine if the shooting was related to an earlier argument.
