A teenager has been charged in a homicide investigation in Springfield after a man was found dead in a car with a bullet wound.

Officers arrested 18-year-old Cameron Boyd in relation to the case.

Officials received a call around 11:31 a.m. Wednesday about a man slumped over in a car on 21st Street near Woodland Street.

When crews got to the scene, they found 25-year-old Demetrius Mack in the car, and the front of the vehicle was against a tree.

Authorities said the car was still running and appeared to be in gear. They also noted the windows were up, and the doors were locked.

Once they forced the doors open, they found Mack was dead with a bullet wound.
