A man was shot when at least one suspect forced his or her way into a Rutherford County home. A woman and two small children were inside at the time.
The incident was reported early Thursday morning on Farmingdale Drive in La Vergne.
Officials on the scene said a man was shot in the stomach around 5 a.m. Thursday. They said there were signs of forced entry.
Police said they believe a woman and two children hid in a bathtub during the ordeal.
The victim was loaded into an ambulance and transported from the scene. His condition was not known.
So far, no information on possible suspects was available.
