A man has been killed in a shooting, and police in Murfreesboro have asked for the public’s help finding the person responsible.
The incident happened around 9:35 p.m. Friday behind a business in the 1200 block of East Northfield Boulevard.
Police said they responded to that area where a Hispanic man, identified as 58-year-old Fausto Hernandez, was found suffering from a gunshot wound.
Hernandez was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he later died.
Multiple witnesses said they heard gunshots around 9:30 p.m. Detectives said they have been looking for more information from other possible witnesses who may have heard gunshots or yelling in that location between 9 p.m. and 9:40 p.m.
Authorities released a surveillance photo of a car, and they said they’re hoping someone can identify the person in the vehicle. Police confirmed that person was not a suspect, just a possible witness.
