A man has died in a shooting on Clifton Avenue.
The incident happened in the 2700 block of Clifton Avenue around 5:30 p.m. Friday.
Officials confirmed 19-year-old Moniteon Smith was shot after he got inside a parked vehicle outside of Swett's Restaurant. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.
Reports stated Smith had driven a Nissan Altima into the parking lot. He then waited about ten minutes for a gold four-door sedan to park next to him.
Detectives said Smith got into the gold car on the passenger side and an apparent struggle began.
When the passenger door opened, Smith fell to the ground, and the car fled.
