A 19-year-old who was handling a pistol when it discharged and took a young person's life pleaded guilty to reckless homicide.
Zachary Able was in a parked SUV with three others in June when the gun discharged.
The bullet injured Able's hand, but it also took the life of 14-year-old Clayton Gangji.
Able was sentenced to serve two and a half years behind bars on Wednesday
He was originally charged with criminal homicide.
