A short time later, Fisher called back saying three vehicles were following him, at which point Carter told him to drive back to the residence.
When Fisher turned onto Cathy Jo Circle, Carter said he saw a white Impala park on the street with its lights out, and a gray or green Impala follow Fisher.
Carter claimed two men got out of a small black car and walked down Norway Terrace toward Cathy Jo Circle. They reportedly ran up to Fisher's truck, at which point they fired - striking Fisher.
Carter said one of the suspects shot at him and he returned fire.
Fisher drove about 400 feet before crashing into two parked vehicles. He was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later died.
