Police have opened an investigation following the murder of a man in Murfreesboro.
The incident happened before midnight Friday in the 200 block of Indian Park Drive.
The victim was identified as 30-year-old Cesar Lopez-Flores. He died at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.
Reports stated police found Lopez-Flores on Indian Park Drive. He had been shot and authorities attempted first aid at the scene.
According to a preliminary investigation, a woman had allegedly been kidnapped earlier in the night in Bedford County by several suspects.
She told police she had been assaulted and directed to take the suspects to the location on Indian Park Drive.
That’s when the suspects forced their way into the home, shot Lopez-Flores, and left the woman at the scene. She was there when officers arrived.
