Man Arrested In Fatal Lewis Street Shooting

Officers have made an arrest in a fatal shooting that allegedly stemmed from an argument over a pair of shoes.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said 20-year-old Cortney Jenkins was arrested overnight Wednesday and charged with criminal homicide. 

Officers said he shot and killed 51-year-old Randy Maupin in the J.C. Napier Housing Development on Saturday night.

Witnesses identified Jenkins as the suspect shortly after Maupin was shot multiple times outside his Lewis Street home. 

Maupin was initially taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.

Jenkins was booked in the Davidson County Jail around 2 a.m.
