Suspect Accused Of Shooting Girlfriend's Husband

A suspect has been charged after police say he shot his girlfriend’s husband at a southern Davidson County home. 

The incident happened shortly after 7 p.m. Sunday at a townhome on Rossi Road.

According to an affidavit from Metro Nashville Police, Jeffrey Potts was charged with aggravated assault after shooting 48-year-old Michael Thomson.

The police report stated that Thomson is married to Potts’ girlfriend.

Potts reportedly saw Thomson approaching the house and fired shots when he got inside the home - which is owned by Jennifer Thomson.

Thomson was shot three times.

He was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

Potts was booked on a $100,000 bond.
