Man Sought After Alleged Kidnapping, Shots Fired

Officials with the Gallatin Police Department said they’re searching for a wanted man after a woman and her small child were allegedly held against their will.

Reports stated warrants were issued for the arrest of Lawrence Bernard Douglas.

According to authorities, police were called to a home in the 600 block of North Water on Wednesday for a report of shots fired.

The female and child had allegedly been held against their will by Douglas, and he reportedly fired seven rounds during a struggle with the woman.

No injuries were reported. Douglas fled from the scene.

Officials said Douglas had two warrants on file for aggravated kidnapping, he also had two warrants for aggravated assault and twelve warrants for reckless endangerment with a firearm.

According to reports, Douglas has an extensive past criminal history.

Douglas was described as standing around 5’7’’ tall and weighing approximately 260 to 300 pounds.

Police said Douglas was known to drive a two-door, maroon Cadillac El Dorado with temporary tags.
