Man Wanted In Fatal Shooting Of 18-Year-Old

Posted

A man has been charged in the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old, and police confirmed they’re searching for that suspect.

Officials said they’ve charged 24-year-old Hollis E. Harbison III with criminal homicide.

The charge stemmed from the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Keith King in an alley in the 800 block of Garfield Street on Thursday night.

According to an investigation, authorities alleged Harbison fired shots into the car King was in as it drove through the alley.

Reports stated the driver of the car was not injured.

Police said at least one other person was involved in the gunfire, and they’ve been working to learn that person’s identity.

Harbison was arrested Thursday night on charges of felony reckless endangerment, unlawful gun possession, and aggravated criminal trespassing.

Officers said while they were investigating King’s death that night, they heard additional gunfire and saw muzzle flashes.

Reports stated Harbison ran when he saw officers. They caught him and found him with a semi-automatic pistol and one empty magazine, as well as one partially empty magazine and one loaded magazine.

Officials said Harbison’s gun smelled as if it had just been fired.

Authorities said Harbison posted a $30,000 bond Friday before evidence was developed that linked him to King’s murder.

Police have been on the lookout for Harbison. Anyone with information on his whereabouts has been asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
