A man injured in a shooting on West Heiman Street has passed away.
The incident happened just after 1 a.m. Friday, October 14 in the 2000 block of West Heiman Street.
Authorities confirmed 19-year-old Jhonquis Compton died from his injuries at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Compton suffered a head wound when he was allegedly shot by a black male who had gold twists in his hair.
The suspect fled from the scene in a dark Pontiac sedan.
Officials confirmed Compton had also been injured in a shooting on August 29th at 14th Avenue North and Buchanan Street.
Authorities said there was no immediate indication that the two shootings were connected.
