A Murfreesboro man has been charged after a beating victim succumbed to his injuries.
Officials with Murfreesboro Police said they were called to a medical situation on South Church Street shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday.
When officers arrived, they found Kaithong Keomek unconscious and bleeding. He was taken to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital and then later transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
He later died shortly before 1 p.m. Monday.
Police said Keomek and Anousack Imanivong got into a verbal argument prior to the beating.
Imanivong was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault. He was booked on a $250,000 bond.
Authorities said charges will likely be increased in the case.
