A Congressional Medal of Honor recipient spoke at a local church.
The event took place at First Baptist Nashville Sunday morning.
Special Forces Vietnam Veteran Gary Beikirch was awarded the Medal of Honor for rescuing and treating wounded soldiers while placing himself in the line of intense fire during battle in Vietnam.
Beikirch also continued to provide medical care despite his own serious wounds. This took place during a battle at Dak Seang Camp, Vietnam.
U.S. Congressman Jim Cooper who represents Tennessee's 5th district attended the ceremony.
