Metro Council To Discuss School Bus Seat Belts

Posted

Metro Nashville council members are expected take up a resolution to require seatbelts on Metro Nashville Public School buses, following November's deadly crash in Chattanooga.

The resolution requests that the board of education change its policy and require that all buses have seatbelts.

This comes in response to the deadly bus crash in Chattanooga that claimed the lives of six children.

Following the wreck, the head of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said three-point seat belts, like the ones found in cars, should be on every school bus across the country.
