Authorities were called to at least two south Nashville businesses after armed robberies overnight.

The first incident was reported around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday at a Delta Express on Harding Place.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said two men wearing hoodies walked in and pointed a gun at the clerk. They were able to get away with cash and cigarettes.

This same store was hit by robbers on August 23.

About an hour later, a man walked into a Waffle House on Sidco Drive and demanded cash. The man was armed with a handgun and was wearing a bandana.

He took off on foot and ran behind the restaurant.

K9 officers were called to the scene and tried to locate a scent.

Police said two men also tried to rob a nearby Mapco around 2 a.m. However, an observant clerk saw the men, locked the doors, and hit the panic button.

Detectives said that person prevented her store from being robbed. It’s unclear if these same suspects were the ones who targeted the Delta Express.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
