A mother has been charged with neglect after allegedly leaving her child alone in a parked car.
Officers with Metro Nashville Police were called to the Arbor Creek Apartments in Nashville after witnesses heard crying coming from inside a car.
That person approached the vehicle and found a child alone locked inside.
Police arrived, ran the tag and traced the car to a nearby apartment.
The child's mother answered the door and said she forgot about the toddler.
The girl had been left her alone for at least an hour in the dark.
According to an affidavit, an open bottle of beer and two wine glasses were found in the car with her.
The mother was taken into custody and charged with neglect of a child 6-years-old or less. Her photo was not available.
