A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Bell Road.
The wreck happened in Hermitage at Stewarts Ferry Pike around 12:45 p.m. Saturday.
Reports stated the motorcyclist was driving a 2012 Kawasaki motorcycle when he attempted to pass traffic in the bicycle lane.
Authorities said after passing traffic, the motorcyclist hit the side of a pickup truck that was making a U-turn. He was reportedly unable to avoid hitting the truck due to his speed.
The driver of the motorcycle was killed in the crash. He was believed to be a 23-year-old who lived in Hermitage, but authorities said he was not carrying an ID at the time of the crash. They have not been able to make a positive confirmation of his identity.
The 60-year-old driver of the truck, who was from Alabama, was not injured. Officials said his U-turn was legal.
Further details were not available as the investigation remained ongoing.
