Motorcyclist Killed In Clarksville, 1 Arrested

Police have identified a motorcyclist who was killed in a crash in Clarksville that left one person charged with vehicular homicide.

Authorities said 29-year-old Jeremy Halstead was killed in the crash that happened around 5:11 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Tiny Town Road and Cainlo Drive.

According to reports, an officer found Halstead crashed in that area. He was later pronounced dead at Tennova Hospital.

In another location, officials detained the driver of a red truck, later identified as 24-year-old Joseph Karnes.

Karnes has since been arrested and charged with vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident, and non-compliance with financial responsibility (insurance required). He was being held in the Montgomery County Jail without bond.

Police confirmed they believe alcohol was a factor. Test results were pending.
