A motorcyclist has been killed in a crash south of downtown Nashville.
The wreck happened around 9:40 p.m. Saturday and involved three vehicles on 8th Avenue South at Chestnut Street.
The victim has been identified as 27-year-old Joshua Cannon.
According to a preliminary investigation, authorities said Cannon was riding a Harley Davidson Sportster at a high rate of speed when he hit the back of a Dodge sedan that was stopped in traffic.
That’s when Cannon’s motorcycle went down onto its left side and slid into the rear of a Lincoln SUV.
Officials confirmed Cannon died at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
Police said there was no indication of alcohol or drug involvement.
