A man who reportedly resisted arrest and assaulted officers has been taken into custody.
The incident happened around 8:15 p.m. Saturday in the 3700 block of Beckwith Road.
Officers responded to the scene following a report of an unknown man who was wearing only shorts and trying to get into cars in the area.
Authorities said they found 30-year-old Joshua Ketchum at the scene behind a nearby home.
According to reports, Ketchum was being erratic, failed to show officers his hands, and was refusing the officers’ commands.
A taser was used during an attempt to arrest Ketchum.
While trying to escape custody, Ketchum assaulted two officers during two separate instances.
Officials said it was determined Ketchum was impaired.
He was booked into the Wilson County Jail on charges of public intoxication, 2 counts of simple assault, and 2 counts of resisting arrest.
