Authorities confirmed multiple pets died in a house fire in Murfreesboro.
Crews responded to the scene of a fire at a home in the 1800 block of Susan Drive around 9:45 a.m. Friday.
Firefighters found heavy flames after entering through the front of the home with smoke throughout the structure.
Reports stated no one was at home at the time of the fire; however, multiple pets were pulled from the home.
Authorities said crews attempted to revive the animals with breathing masks, but they were unsuccessful.
Officials confirmed five small dogs, a cat, and a bird died in the fire.
Heavy fire damage was reported in the bedroom with smoke and water damage throughout the home.
The residents were displaced, and those with the Fire Marshal’s Office were called in to investigate.
The fire appeared to have started in a front bedroom. Assistant Fire Marshal Clay Malone said the fire was ruled as accidental and appeared to be electrical in nature.
