A Munford couple has come forward and said they have the winning Powerball ticket, according to multiple media outlets.

John and Lisa Robinson told one national news source they were holding the winning jackpot ticket.

The couple received a check for $528,000,000 Friday during a Tennessee Lottery Press Conference since there were two other winning tickets sold.

John said they decided to take take their winnings in a lump sum, giving them $328,000,000. “Because we aren’t guaranteed tomorrow," John said.

He and his wife live near the store where the winning ticket was bought.

They reached out to Tennessee lottery officials Friday, arriving in Nashville by plane around 1:30 p.m.

The couple became emotional during Friday's press conference as they talked about the family they would help with the money, but wore huge smiles as they recounted the moment they realized they were millionaires.

"I was running down the hallway screaming and crying saying you’ve got to check these tickets," said Lisa.

They said their lawyer advised them to go on TV first as a way of controlling the story. John said he bought the ticket and three others Wednesday night while on the way home from work.

The Tennessee couple has been described as a hard-working, dependable family.

John has been working in information technology, and Lisa has been employed at a dermatologist's office in Memphis. The couple is in their mid-50s.

Lisa said they planned to continue working, and they had no plans to move. John agreed by saying, “that’s what we’ve done all our lives. We just can’t sit down or lay down and do nothing,"

Neighbors Roy and Mary Sue Smith said they have lived next door to the Robinsons since about 1995. Their neighborhood is a quiet, close-knit suburb of well-kept single family homes.

Which is why the couple said one of their first thoughts after winning was their neighbors.

The Robinsons' daughter, Tiffany, who lives nearby, is a recent college graduate in her 20s. She went to school at Murray State. The Robinsons' son, Adam, is an electrician. They said they would be sharing their winnings with their family, specifically paying off Tiffany's student loans.

Munford Mayor Dwayne Cole said Friday that he didn't think John and Lisa would follow past lottery winners who have squandered their money quickly.

The mayor added the Robinsons are "deeply rooted Munford citizens" whose parents lived in the town. He said they appreciate community, family values and have always lived within their means.

Two other winning tickets were sold in Chino Hills, California, and Melbourne Beach, Florida.
