In the wake of the Orlando shooting and the so-called transgender "bathroom bill" legislation in Tennessee, a Nashville group has banded together to create music for a cause.
The Nashville In Harmony Choir has been preparing for a concert on Sunday to cap off Nashville Pride Weekend.
The LGBT choir gave NewsChannel 5 a sneak peek during one of their rehearsals.
The performance has been set to include a song written by director Don Schlosser.
Choir members said the attack in Orlando was an attack on a safe place for LGBT members, and they have been wanting their performance on Sunday to be a strong statement of unity.
“That’s why that attack was so significant. It wasn't just a dance club. It was a sanctuary, it was the place where people go, the safe place,” Schlosser said.
The Nashville In Harmony performance has been scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Sunday at TPAC.
