Nashville Rescue Mission Fries Turkeys For Thanksgiving

and last updated

As families start heading to the grocery store to get ready for Thanksgiving, workers at the Nashville Rescue Mission have begun frying turkeys for those in need.

The annual turkey fry has provided nearly 45,000 turkeys and more than 65,000 meals to help homeless families in the community.

Country Music singer Tracy Lawrence started the event back in 2005 and will be at the mission later Tuesday morning for the event.

They plan to fry around 500 turkeys for those in need.

The event wraps up at 5 p.m. and they will use those Turkeys for their great Thanksgiving banquet on Wednesday.

On Thanksgiving homeless families will be served breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
