A Nashville singer has been set to kick off one day of the Republican National Convention by singing the National Anthem.
It's a moment Ayla Brown has prepared for since she first sang the anthem in public at 12 years old.
Thursday night, millions will be watching!
She told NewsChannel 5 she's dedicating her performance to the men and women who keep our country safe and free.
“I just got back from a two week tour overseas to the Middle East, and when I say these men and women have nothing, they have nothing,” Brown said. “They are so honored for a country music artist to come and perform for them, but I'm the one who's honored to be performing for these men and women, so, what am I going to be feeling? I'm going to be feeling an immense amount of pride and very, very blessed to get this opportunity, and I dedicate it to them.”
Brown hasn’t been a stranger to politics. Her father is former United States Senator Scott Brown.
