Northbound lanes of Ellington Parkway have reopened after a fatal, early-morning crash in which a driver veered off the road and struck a tree.
The incident happened shortly after 3 a.m. Wednesday near the entrance ramp to Briley Parkway.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said the driver of a white SUV was killed after hitting a tree on the side of the roadway.

The cause of the crash was not known.
Northbound Ellington Parkway were for several hours while investigators remained on the scene.
