An off-duty officer was assaulted while working his second job as a security guard.
Authorities said the incident happened around 1 a.m. Saturday at the Walmart in the 4000 block of Nolensville Pike.
Reports stated the officer was working security when he approached a shoplifter who assaulted him.
Authorities said the officer had a minor cut on his hand, so the suspect possibly had a knife.
