A security guard was able to break up a robbery at a south Nashville Walmart overnight.
The incident happened early Tuesday morning at the store located on Nolensville Pike.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said a homeless man was sleeping inside his truck in the parking lot when he was approached by three suspects – one of whom was armed with a samurai sword.
An off-duty officer, who was working security, saw what was happening and intervened. He was able to hold two of the suspects at gunpoint until additional officers arrived.
After a brief search, the third suspect – armed with the sword – was apprehended. They were later identified as Jeffrey Fuqua, Aaron Maddux and Darryl Wilson.
All three have been booked on aggravated robbery charges.
