Posted

An officer for the Metro Nashville Police Department has been decommissioned following his arrest for stalking.

According to police officials, 31-year-old Jonathan Perez was arrested Tuesday morning by Domestic Violence Division detectives on a charge of misdemeanor stalking.

He’s been accused of continuously contacting a co-worker, whom he previously dated, after she reportedly asked him to stop sending her messages.

Police said the contact allegedly continued after one of Perez’s supervisors instructed him to stop.

He has been assigned to desk duty as the result of the arrest.

His bond was set at $2,500.

The police department’s Office of Professional Accountability would be conducting a parallel administrative investigation of Perez’s actions.
