A suspected impaired driver was involved in an early morning head-on crash with a Mt. Juliet police officer.
Authorities said the wreck happened around 2:15 a.m. Sunday on Weakley Lane near Rockdale Fellowship Road.
According to reports, the officer was driving home when he was hit head-on by another vehicle.
Officials confirmed the vehicle was driving the wrong way in the officer’s lane.
The officer did attempt to come to a stop before the crash to reduce the force of impact.
Reports stated there were no serious injuries from the crash.
The officer was treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries.
Police said the driver of the car, who was suspected of being impaired, and the passenger were facing multiple charges from the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
