A pedestrian was in critical condition after being hit by a driver in Madison.
The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. Thursday on Gallatin Pike near Hickory Street.
Authorities said the vehicle, driven by Jeffery Christian, hit the pedestrian in the roadway, not in a crosswalk.

Christian was arrested and charged with aggravated vehicular assault, driving on a revoked license, and criminal implied consent.
The roadway was closed for a while as crews investigated at the scene.
